“He saved our show! Robert is that extraordinary breed of self-confident, ego-less professional whose dedication to hard work is only exceeded by his talent. Robert listened to our ideas, implemented many of then, but used his own good taste and common sense to overrule the client when necessary. I would work with Robert again anytime anyplace the opportunity arose.” ~ Director of Entertainment / Norwegian Cruise Line

Digital4u2 was hired to design the 2008 Longaberger Buzz National Sales Leader meeting.  It is held at the Columbus Ohio Hyatt Convention center every January and is the smallest of their conventions with 3000+ leaders.

The rig consisted of mostly 12 box trussing with a 26 foot circle as the focus hanging over the floor seating.  and 1/4 of a circle was used upstage of the center circle for the front wash and to compliment the curves in the set design.  The edgy trussing design brings a little bit of “hip” to the design and seemed to work well with the runway and stage they used this year.  12 Mac 700 Profiles and 12 Mac 700 Wash units were used for most of the eye candy and movement while the VL 3500’s were used to frame in the color for the set.  About 120 conventional fixtures were used for the general washes and misc gobo patterns throughout.
All of the gear came from AVI in Cincinnati.  The gear was in great shape and we had very little problems with it.
The truss design was a bit out of the ordinary for this client and pushed the envelope a bit for a corporate event, but it seems to have gone over well and the clients loved it.

NCL – Gem / Sept-2007

NCL Gem 1

Digital4u2 was in Germany for the inaugural sailing of the Norwegian Gem.  From about 3 weeks prior to the first sail from the shipyard to about 3 weeks after the sea trials we were onboard the vessel knee deep in three new production shows.  The Gary Musick Company outdid themselves with three new show concepts.

NCL Gem 2The lighting rig was nothing less than extraordinary!  An all mover rig with quite a variety of the Martin line implemented and positioned with productions shows in mind.
The Maxxyz console had a refreshing learning curve, as it was my first time with the controller.  Quite a few very familiar keystrokes and functions in the software made the migration to the Maxxyz quite easy and quick.
The guys at Funa were more than helpful and turned the rig over even before the deadlines which got us in and programming.  Pretty much a seamless install and a great experience.
